He concentrated on the depiction of landscapes, which is one of the old domains of Dutch painting . He taught himself to paint with the mouth . Later, the artist,, Johan Joy" taught him for two years. In 1986 Kees Schut received a scholarship from the Association. Only six years later he became a full member of the VDMFK . This provided him with the  opportunity to make painting his profession . Besides his hobbies computers, reading and watching TV, painting plays a central role in his life today. His works are characterised by a powerful constructive basic position. His winter landscapes frequently pass into the domain of the expressive through the use of natural colours . Other favourite motifs are flower compositions. For many years he has been able to present his works to the public at personal exhibitions and group exhibitions.
